Candle shipments deserve attention to the filled box, inserts and sealing process, not a blanket claim that one tape “protects fragile goods.” The outer carton may carry dense contents, but the correct tape choice still depends on board construction, seam, handling and how consistently the strip is applied. Test the actual packed carton before approving material or artwork.
Build a representative candle carton
Use the same candles, protective inserts and outer corrugated box that a customer order would receive. Record filled weight, box dimensions, seam length and any surface coating or print on the board. If single-candle and multi-candle orders use different boxes, check both. A tape trial cannot replace product cushioning or a broader packaging test.
Compare the offered tape choices
BrandTapeCo offers kraft and reinforced kraft water-activated custom tape in 48 mm and 60 mm widths. Other widths, including 72 mm, are not available. Lay each width across the real seam, confirm the dispenser accepts it, and compare application using the same carton and station method. Reinforcement is a construction option, not a certified safe weight threshold in this article.

If the protective insert or number of candles changes, make a new representative box. A good seal on a single-candle carton does not establish that the same board and tape arrangement is suitable for a heavier multi-candle shipment. Keep the carton trial separate from any product-breakage evaluation.
