WooCommerce can tell you what sold; it does not decide which tape will seal the shipment. Start with your actual packing records: which products share a carton, how many of each box size ship, and how much tape each box uses. Then test a 48 mm or 60 mm custom design on the real carton before ordering. This is a packaging workflow, not a claim that a plugin automatically specifies tape.
Turn orders into carton groups
Review a representative period of completed store orders and group them by the outer shipping carton used after picking and packing. A SKU may need a different box when bundled with another item, so do not equate one product page with one box. Keep the smallest, largest and most frequently used cartons as physical samples for tape-width and artwork review.
Estimate standard-roll use
At the packing station, measure the normal tape cut for the top and bottom seals of each carton group. Multiply by expected box counts and divide the combined metres by 50 m per standard online roll. Add a buffer based on your own waste and demand changes, not an invented universal percentage. Keep the calculation with the purchase request so you can compare forecast and actual roll consumption later.
| From the store and packing line | Use in the tape decision |
|---|---|
| Order combinations | Identify the actual carton groups used for shipments. |
| Box count by group | Prioritize the carton sizes worth testing. |
| Tape cut per box | Estimate 50 m-roll demand. |
| Brand artwork version | Approve a readable repeat on the selected width. |
Custom tape is available in 48 mm and 60 mm widths only; 72 mm and other widths are not offered. Test the chosen width on the real seam and check dispenser fit. The mixed-carton guide helps determine whether one width can serve the range. Use the logo-repeat guide to assess normal cut lengths.
The standard online minimum is five 50 m rolls per design and color configuration. A nonstandard length needs a sales feasibility review and separate written quote and may not be available. Check current options and price on the product page; do not infer price or lead time from your WooCommerce data.
