Shopify records sales, but the packing line decides which carton and tape are actually used. Before ordering branded water-activated tape, map common order combinations to real corrugated box sizes, then check the proposed 48 mm or 60 mm tape on those boxes. This guide is about fulfillment planning; it does not describe a Shopify integration or endorsement.
Map the order-to-box handoff
For a representative period, compare completed orders with the carton selected by the packing team. Record the box group, board source, normal top and bottom tape cuts, dispenser station and any exceptions such as bundles or gift packing. A store SKU is not always a box specification: the same item may ship differently when combined with other products.
Connect brand approval to station instructions
Keep the approved logo, color reference, repeat direction and proof revision with the chosen kraft or reinforced kraft construction and tape width. Give packing staff a way to identify the current approved roll. If the artwork changes for a campaign, update the order record and station instruction together, not just the store’s marketing image.

Forecast and test before rollout
Multiply expected boxes in each group by observed tape used per carton, then divide total metres by 50 m per standard roll. Add your own waste allowance. Trial the tape on the smallest and largest representative cartons with the actual dispenser and operator method, recording visible seal issues.
