A usable tape artwork file is more than a logo attached to an email. It must show how the mark repeats on the chosen 48 mm or 60 mm width, where a normal cut falls, which colors and wording are approved, and how it looks on the shipping carton. BrandTapeCo offers one-color, two-color and full-color custom printing options, but file acceptance and production limits need confirmation for the actual order.
Prepare the source assets
Send the original editable logo if available, its color references, any fonts or outlined text, and the exact wording. Keep a named revision so the proof can be traced back to the source. Do not assume an AI, PDF, SVG or EPS file is automatically accepted just because it is a familiar format; ask the supplier which file and proof workflow it requires.
Design for the roll and the box
- Choose 48 mm or 60 mm based on the real carton seam and dispenser. Other custom widths, including 72 mm, are not offered.
- Place the artwork at actual width and check the shortest normal tape strip. A repeat should still look intentional when cut at different points.
- Wrap the mock-up over the box edge and include any shipping label. Check that essential text or logo elements remain visible.
- Review the design on the selected kraft or reinforced kraft material rather than assuming a white-screen proof predicts final color exactly.
- Have brand and packing owners approve the same version, then keep that proof with the purchase order.
| Approval area | Owner’s question |
|---|---|
| Logo and wording | Is this the current approved brand content? |
| Color | Are references named, and are any match limitations understood? |
| Repeat | Does a normal cut leave the mark readable? |
| Carton application | Does the strip seal the actual box without obscuring essential information? |
For a file-focused check, see vector logo preparation. For colors and repeats, use the color-reference guide and repeat-pattern guide.
Standard online custom rolls are 50 m long, with at least five rolls per design and color configuration. Any nonstandard roll length requires sales to assess feasibility and quote separately in writing; it is not guaranteed. Check the live product options before approving the final artwork and quantity.
