A repeat pattern is successful when a normal strip cut from any part of the roll still looks intentional on the box. A large artwork board can hide a weak repeat: the logo may be sliced in half, face the wrong direction, or disappear under a shipping label. Test a physical-scale mock-up before approving the file.
Use the carton to set the repeat
Measure the common top and bottom tape cuts on the actual shipping boxes. Place the logo at the proposed scale on a 48 mm or 60 mm strip, then slide a paper “cut window” across the pattern. Ask whether each likely cut still contains a readable mark or message. These are BrandTapeCo’s only custom widths; a design requiring 72 mm must be redesigned, not promised as a quote option.
Check orientation and obstacles
- Will the logo be upright when the strip is applied along the box seam?
- What happens where the tape bends over the front or back edge?
- Does a shipping label, barcode or another strip cover the only visible mark?
- Does the pattern still read well on the shortest regular carton cut?
- If more than one language is present, can both survive a normal cut?
Keep one proof showing actual width and normal cut length, not only an endless digital pattern. Note the repeat direction, logo spacing, selected kraft or reinforced kraft material, color references and version number. A proof should be accepted by the brand owner and checked on a real carton by operations. For multilingual repeats, see the multilingual artwork guide.
Repeat the mock-up on every carton size that will share this design. A spacing that places one complete logo on a long strip may leave only fragments on a short jewelry-style box, while a densely repeated mark can look crowded on a larger carton. If one design cannot serve both cleanly, document separate artwork versions rather than approving a pattern based only on the largest box.
Ordering details
BrandTapeCo offers one-color, two-color and full-color printing options; ask the supplier to review the actual artwork rather than assuming a particular spacing or resolution limit. Standard online rolls are 50 m and start at five rolls per design and color configuration. If an unusual roll length is needed, sales may assess it and issue a separate written quote; production is not guaranteed. Check the current product page and use the proof checklist before approval.
