Custom Tape Lead Time: What Happens Before Your Order Ships?

Purchasing teams coordinating artwork and production reviewing custom tape lead time planning requirements at a packing station

For BrandTapeCo’s standard online custom tape order, allow about one business day for artwork proof preparation after we receive your order and usable artwork. Production is typically planned for 5–7 business days after you approve the proof, subject to the confirmed specification and production schedule. The finished order is then dispatched. Transit time depends on the destination and is separate from production time.

Those stages answer different questions. The proof stage checks what will be printed. The production stage starts after approval. Shipping begins after the order is complete. A delivery date needs all three stages and the actual destination.

The three stages of a custom tape order

Stage What happens What starts it
Artwork proof We prepare the production layout for your review; normally about one business day is planned. Receipt of the order and usable artwork.
Production Typically 5–7 business days, subject to the reviewed specification and production schedule. Your approval of the final digital proof.
Shipping The completed order is dispatched; transit depends on the delivery address and shipping arrangement. Production completion and dispatch.

The production estimate is not a door-to-door delivery promise. If a buyer needs tape for a launch, exhibition or seasonal shipping period, the relevant date is when the rolls must reach the packing station, not merely when production is expected to finish.

Prepare artwork before placing a time-sensitive order

Unclear files and late revisions can delay proof approval. Before ordering, put the following in one place:

  • the logo version that should be printed;
  • the selected tape material and width;
  • the one-color, two-color or full-color printing choice;
  • any color reference, orientation or repeat requirement;
  • the quantity and complete destination address; and
  • one person authorized to approve the final proof.

BrandTapeCo’s current online options are standard or reinforced kraft paper, 48 mm or 60 mm width, 50 m per roll, and a minimum of five rolls per selected specification. Other widths, including 72 mm, are not available. A different roll length or larger recurring order needs a separate feasibility review and written quotation. These choices should be settled before a buyer relies on a timetable.

Review the proof as a production decision

Check the company name, logo version, size, orientation, repeat and print option. A preview on the product page helps you configure an order, but the digital production proof is the file to approve before printing. If you request a correction, state which version replaces the previous one and wait for the revised proof. Production planning starts from the approved proof, so the time spent resolving revisions needs room in your schedule.

Work backward from the date you need the rolls

  1. Set the date by which the rolls must be at your packing location.
  2. Ask for a destination-specific transit estimate and allow for customs or local delivery steps where applicable.
  3. Allow for the typical 5–7-business-day production window after proof approval.
  4. Leave time to review the proof, request any correction and give one clear approval.
  5. Confirm the complete specification and production schedule before committing to a customer-facing launch date.

Do not count calendar days as business days or treat the proof preparation estimate as a guaranteed approval date. For a larger or unusual order, request a reviewed quotation and schedule based on its material, width, print design, quantity and destination.

What if the required date is close?

Send the supplier the needed arrival date, destination, proposed specification, quantity and usable artwork immediately. Ask what can actually be confirmed for that order. Changing from 48 mm to 60 mm, standard to reinforced kraft, or one-color to full-color printing changes the specification and may require a fresh review. Do not assume that a different option is faster.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 5–7-business-day period start when I pay?

For the current standard online route, the typical production period starts after the digital artwork proof has been approved, subject to the reviewed specification and production schedule. Payment or logo upload alone does not constitute proof approval.

Is shipping included in that period?

No. The completed order is dispatched after production. Transit time varies by destination country, region and full delivery address.

Can I change artwork after ordering?

Contact BrandTapeCo as soon as possible and identify the replacement file. Whether a change can be accepted depends on the order stage. Obtain a revised proof and clear confirmation before assuming production will use the new artwork.

Can BrandTapeCo promise an arrival date before reviewing my order?

A reliable arrival estimate needs the selected specification, artwork approval stage, production schedule and destination. Ask for an order-specific review if a deadline matters.
