From Custom Tape Sample to Bulk Order: What Must Be Approved?

Move from custom tape sample to bulk order with a documented carton test, artwork proof, approved 48/60 mm specification and written commercial terms.

Buyers moving from evaluation to an approved order reviewing custom tape sample to bulk order requirements at a packing station

A sample is useful only if it answers a defined question. Decide whether you are checking artwork, carton-seal application, dispenser compatibility or all three, then record the result on the actual shipping box. Do not treat a visual proof as a physical performance test, or one successful sample as a guarantee for every board and packing shift.

Separate three approval records

Record What the approver checks What it does not prove
Artwork proof Logo version, wording, color references, repeat direction, print area and selected width. Adhesion or transport performance.
Physical sample Material, 48 mm or 60 mm width, dispenser feed and application on representative cartons. Every future carton or production batch will behave identically.
Commercial order Final specification, quantity, price, destination and written production/delivery terms. That an old quote or unapproved change is still valid.

Use a simple handoff sequence

  1. State the sample objective and identify the actual carton, board and packing station.
  2. Keep the proof file and revision number with the sample request. Brand and operations approvers should know which version they are reviewing.
  3. Run and photograph the carton check. Record feed, wetting, placement, visible seal condition and any exception; follow the dispenser maker’s instructions.
  4. List corrections in one place. After a revised proof or material choice, confirm whether another sample review is needed.
  5. Issue the bulk order only against the final approved artwork and material/width specification, with written quantity and date terms.

The proof approval checklist covers artwork details. For the physical trial, use the application test guide.

Orderable boundaries

BrandTapeCo custom tape is available in 48 mm and 60 mm only; 72 mm and other widths cannot be quoted as an available option. The standard online roll is 50 m and the minimum is five rolls per design and color configuration. A nonstandard roll length may be discussed with sales but needs a feasibility assessment and separate written quote; it is not guaranteed. A bespoke single roll may cost more than five standard rolls combined. Check the live product configuration before final approval.
